Who Says We Only Read-Aloud to our PreSchoolers?
Nancy Boutet, our new Head of Youth Services, has crafted a unique Read-Aloud Storytime for 1st through 3rd graders. This drop-in, weekly event allows school- aged children to stop home after school, have a snack and then head up to the Library for a relaxing, yet spririted, special time for sharing favorite CHAPTER books, authors and series! Drop-in when you can on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 4:45 in the Children’s Room.
Musical Duo- “Two Old Friends”:
Get an early start on your St. Patrick's Day celebration. Don't miss a night of lively music at the Library. Join us on Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room for a performance by "Two Old Friends. “ This musical duo consisting of Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins will regale us with traditional Irish, Scottish, and American folk songs. “Two old Friends” is dynamic duo offers a delightful display of music, history, and more than a few funny stories. This free program is open to all ages and does not require registration.
YA Gaming Tournament:
Saturday, March 6 from 1-3 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Wii Got Game! Do you? Teens, show off your Wii gaming skills at our first ever “Gaming Tournament”. Win prizes and enjoy free snacks to boot. Free registration for Grades 6 – 12 begins Monday, February 22 in the Youth Services department.

The process is quick and easy. Sign up online at www.westfordlibrary.org or stop by for a friendly visit at the Main Desk. Once you are signed up, you will receive an email any time a book or audiobook or playaway (you get the picture) that you have requested has come in!
Library Rear Entry Project:
Work on our renovated rear entrance is almost complete. The finishing touches are being finalized as the new door and window wall are being installed and the electrical work is completed. We thank everyone for their patience during this project. The resulting safety improvements and energy savings for the Library Department will be significant and benefit the entire community.
What Else Is Happening?:
Thursday, February 25 at 7 p.m.: Advanced Internet classes: These one hour hands-on sessions for adults and seniors focus on formulating effective Internet searches. Register at the Reference Department or call (978) 399-2304.
Thursday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m.: Join the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library for their monthly meeting.
Wednesday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m.: Mother Goose Drop In, join in the fun!
The Bookmobile will be off the road from Tuesday, March 2 through Thursday, March 4. Please contact the Library if you need assistance.
