"Working in Nonprofits: Recipes to Positively Transform Your Life and Career" – is presented by Mark McCurdy on Wednesday March 17.

 

Hear the “secret recipe” of how people just like you are living their dream job for social impact. Learn how to leverage your volunteer or pro-bono experience into a job reality. What are the “Hot & Spicy” sectors and departments in the nonprofit/social impact space – discover where to find these jobs and where to search. Mark will cover: the key ingredients for your resume and cover letter in order to make the nonprofit cut; salary straight talk for the nonprofit sector; and discuss what types of volunteer work has more merit in non-profit arena. There will be networking opportunities before and after the session.

 

Join the J. V. Fletcher Library‘s “Westford Job Seekers Network” to expand your network of business contacts and discover new job opportunities. This group meets Wednesdays from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Library and OPEN to ALL.

 

"Shenanigans" with award-winning Storyteller, Diane Edgecomb:

Friday, March 19 at 4 p.m. Diane Edgecomb, known for her vivid comedic style, presents delightful interpretations of classic Irish stories. There will be plenty of laughter during Edgecomb's animated retelling of these well loved gems! This perfor-mance will be accompanied by Musician Margot Chamberlain playing the Celtic harp. Tickets ($2.00) are now available in the Youth Services Dept. For ages four and up.

Explore your interests through an impressive selection of twenty museum passes that are available daily due to the extraordinary generosity of our Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library, Inc. and the Library Board of Trustees. These passes may be reserved by Wesford residents and non-resident members of the Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library, Inc.

We still have a large supply of 2009 State and Federal tax forms available in the Reference area.  If you prefer, you print-out federal forms from the IRS website http://www.irs.gov/ and state forms from the Massachusetts Department of revenue http://www.mass.gov; click on the tab “For Residents”, scroll down to “Consumer” and click on the subheading “Taxes”.
