The Friends’ ability to provide services to our patrons depends on the generosity donors like you. There are several ways you can support our efforts.

• by donating to the Building Project

• by becoming a Member

• by donating to the Fall Appeal

The J.V. Fletcher Library is in the midst of a major expansion and renovation project, slated to be completed in late 2026. Donations for this project are being handled by The Foundation, the major gifts arm of the Friends.

Money raised through the Foundation will be used primarily to furnish the new building.

Become a member of the Friends! We have memberships at many levels, and all memberships entitle you to attend the Preview Sales at the start of every Friends' Book Sale. Joining the Friends shows your support for the library, and enables us to fund projects and collections throughout the entire year.

Student and Individual memberships admit a single person to Members' Night Book Sale previews on Friday nights.  All other membership levels admit an entire family to the Members' Night Book Sales.

You may join online using PayPal, or download a Membership Form and mail in a check.  Select a membership level from the popup list.  Clicking the "Join Now" button will direct you to the PayPal website to pay online. If you would like to give an additional donation to the Friends, use the “Donate Today” button.

Fifty one years ago, a group of dedicated volunteers came together with the mission to help the library serve Westford. And for the past 51 years, the Friends of the J.V. Fletcher Library have been able to extensively enhance the library’s print and digital collections and fund popular and flourishing initiatives like the Mother Goose story times, two dozen museum passes, and diverse book clubs for grade schoolers through adults. We’ve done all this with generous community support, helping your library do more!

Our goal this year is to raise $20,000 to continue to fund the library’s classic book, CD and DVD collections. We will also continue to expand free access to the increasingly essential downloadable and streaming resources like Hoopla, Kanopy, Freegal, and our extensive list of research databases.
